Upstream company PT Pertamina EP (PEP) plans to reactivate eight suspended wells at the Prabumulih field in South Sumatra Province in a bid to help increase oil production of the field.

Head of the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas southern part of Sumatra (Sumbagsel) regional office, Tirat Ichtijar said on Tuesday that PEP has appointed PT Novomet Articial Lift Indonesia (NALI) to carry out the reactivation of the suspended wells.

He said that the NALI contract is based on a non-authorization for expenditure (AFE) scheme, under which 63 percent of the output will be given to NALI, and the remaining 37 percent for PEP.

Tirat said that the first well to be reactivated is the SP-1Tanjung Tiga Barat well in Lembak, Prabumulih.
