PEP to spud 3 exploration wells in Q1

PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, plans to spud three exploration wells in the first quarter of this year.

"We plan to drill three wells, namely Akasia Bagus-2 in Indramayu and Pondok Mulia-1 in Rengas Dengklok, West Java, and Kenari Raja-1 in Luwuk, Southeast Sulawesi,? said Vice President for Exploration, Nanang S. Manaf to Petromindo.com Wednesday.

He pointed out that the Akasia Bagus-2 dan Pondok Mulia-1 wells are expected to be spudded on Jan. 30, 2014, meanwhile the Pondok Mulia-1 well will be drilled in the second week of February.

?We have previously spudded a well called Jati Ibon-1 on Dec. 20, 2013,? he said, adding that now the firm is also waiting of the result of test of the Kawista-1 well in Papua.
