PEP to start rig moving soon for Poleng drilling program

Upstream oil and gas firm PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said that rig moving for a planned drilling program at the Poleng field, offshore East Java, is expected to start at the end of August.

General Manager of PEP Asset 4, which operates the Poleng field, Didik S. said on Friday that the rig will be moved from the West Madura Offshore block to the Poleng field.

As previously reported, PEP plans offshore drilling program at the Poleng field which will be the company?s first offshore drilling activity since it was set up 12 years ago. It will deploy the ENSCO 67 rig for the drilling program at a well called POL-N2. The drilling duration is estimated for 45 days, with a depth target of 9,000 feet. The drilling program is expected to provide 700 bpd of oil, and 1.2 mmscfd of gas.
