PEP to use new technology in L-Parigi field

PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, plans to use a new tehnology called Floating New Compressor Platform, for its L-Parigi field offshore Java.

The firm said it recently invited experts from various organizations such as the Bandung Insitute of Technology (ITB), the Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS); government agencies such as the he Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), SKK Migas, Directorate General of Oil and Gas; and its subsidiaries PHE WMO, PHE ONWJ into a workshop where the technology provider explain about the technology.

The workshop Archandra Tahar Ph.D from American firm Petroneering Consulting Houston, which holds the patent of the new technology.

In his presentation, Archandra has various advantages, urging PEP to adop the McT technology at its L-Parigi field.
