PT Pertamina EP Cepu ADK (PEPC ADK), operator of the Alas Dara Kemuning (ADK) block in Blora Regency, Central Java Province, has completed drilling of the NGU1X well in the block.
PEPC ADK said in a statement on Wednesday that drilling of the NGU-1X well, using rig owned by PT Pertamina Drilling Services, reached a total depth of 1,889-meter KB.
The well was spudded on April 30 with drilling activity lasting for around 94 days including the final rig release made on August 1, the statement said.
PEPC ADK said that the target of the drilling program is to confirm the presence of hydrocarbon in two layers of the Tuban formation and one layer of the Tawun formation.
Test results of the NGU-1X wells show two natural hydrocarbon flows including DST-1 on the T2 layer of the Tuban formation and DST-3 on M0 layer of the Tawun formation.
The statement said that PEPC ADK, an indirect subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, will conduct further review and evaluation of the hydrocarbon data to determine whether the reserves structure can be economically developed.
If the reserves proved to be feasible for commercial development, the next stage is to obtain exploration status transfer approval from SKK Migas, and plan of development approval from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, as well as candidate of buyers of the gas, the statement said.
