The installation of the sensor technology of Shell Global Solutions International B.V. and Embrey (ExxonMobil Research), a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corp. to treat gas from the Tiung Biru-Jambaran fields has been completed.
?The installation of the technology has been 100 percent done,? Amril Thaib Mandailing, President Director of PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC), the operator of the fields, told Petromindo.com.
Natural gas generally requires removal of H2S, CO2, COS, organic sulfur compounds, mercury and water prior to liquefaction in order to meet specifications, avoid blockages and prevent damage to process equipment.
Tiung Biru field is located within Pertamina EP?s Cepu operations area which is adjacent to the Cepu giant oil and gas block jointly operated by ExxonMobil Cepu Limited (EMCL), a unit of ExxonMobil Indonesia, and PEPC. The Jambaran gas field is located within the Cepu Block, which is operated by EMCL. EMCL and Pertamina EP agreed in September 2012 to unitize both fields.
