PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), said a Plan of Development (PoD) for its Kedung Keris field in Cepu block, East Java, will be submitted in 2015.
?Cepu block will receive additional new oil production from the Kedung Keris field, which is expected to produce 5,000-10,000 bpd of oil. The PoD will be submitted next year,? President Director of PEPC Amril Thaib Mandailing told Petromindo.com.
The Kedung Keris oil field is part of the Cepu block, located at the borders of Central Java and East Java. The block is operated by ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd (EMCL), a unit of ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia, with a 45 percent participating interest. PEPC holds another 45 percent.
Previously, VP of Public Relations and Government Affairs at ExxonMobil Indonesia Erwin Maryoto said that EMCL is preparing the PoD for Kedung Keris. He asserted that EMCL as the official operator of Cepu will also be the operator of Kedung Keris.
Meanwhile, a Petromindo?s source said earlier that PEPC also wants to become the operator of the field under a dual operator scheme, as it is applied in the Jambaran-Tiung Biru unitization field. The company will accelerate the development of the oil field to achieve a production level of 20,000 bopd, according to the source.
