PT Pertamina EP Cepu ADK (PEPC ADK), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), will drill a total of five re-entry wells in the Alas Dara Kemuning (ADK) block, located in Blora, Central Java, according to a top official of the firm.

?The five re-entry wells include two wells in Alas Dara (field) and three wells in Kemuning (field),? President Director of PEPC Amril Thaib Mandailing told Petromindo.com.

Amril explained that he used the term ?re-entry? because the wells had been once drilled by TAC Humpuss and the wellheads are still there.

The ADK block was previously part of the Cepu block. In the 1990s, the Cepu block was under control of TAC Humpus. The block is now controlled by ExxonMobil and Pertamina.

Meanwhile, Public & Government Affairs and Formalities Head at PEPC ADK Gayatri confirmed that the first re-entry well, named NGBT-01, in the Cabak village, Jiken district was spudded on Aug. 24.

"Once the re-entry into the well has been completed, the rig will be mobilized to the the second well, called ALSD-01," said Gayatri to Petromindo.com.

The firm will use another rig to spud the third well, called NGBU-4 well in Nglobo village, Jiken district. Preparation for the well driling is now in progress and the firm is waiting for a fixed schedule for the spudding, according to Gayatri.

Re-entry campaign for fourth and fifh wells, namely ALSD-04 and NGBU-03, will be conducted in 2015, she said.

"The ADK block is projected to come onstream in 2016," Amril said, adding that the company plans to conduct a 3D seismic acquisition next year.

The ADK block is estimated to hold 12.5 MMBO of crude and 25 BSCF of gas resources
