PEPC to drill exploration well in Alas Dara Kemuning field

PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC) plans to drill one exploration well, KMD-1, in Alas Dara Kemuning (ADK) field in Ijen district, Blora regency, Central Java province.

?We plan to drill the well in October which is located in Nglobo village of Ijen district. We conducted a socialization program in the past April,? Ari Triansa, PEPC ADK?s Chief of Petroleum Engineering Management, said.

Ari said the drilling aims to prove the existence of hydrocarbon reserve in Kemuning structure with Kujung Equivalent (Ngimbang) formation as the main target and Tuwun formation as secondary target.

The ADK field was formerly part of the Cepu block. With the government?s consent, ExxonMobil, the co-operator of Cepu block, later transferred the field for PEPC to develop because the field?s reserve was too small for the American firm.
