IDX-listed coal mining company PT Permata Prima Sakti (PPS), through its affiliate PT Batuah Energy Prima, started coal production from its concession in Batuah, Sanga-Sanga, East Kalimantan this month.
Aris Munandar, Vice President of PPS, told Petromindo.com on Wednesday the company is expecting to produce about 500,000 tons from the concession this year.
Aris added that the company will boost production to 3 million tons in 2014 and is expected to reach the full capacity of 5 million tons by 2016.
"Now, the obstacle comes from infrastructure. We just completed a 20 kilometers hauling road at the site," he said adding that the hauling road would not be optimally over the next two months due to the rainy season.
"Once the rainy season is over, may be in April (next year), we can boost our production to 3 million tons," he said
