Permintracer relinquishes S. Kalimantan exploration block

Canadian firm Permintracer Petroleum has asked to terminate contract on its North Tanjung exploration block onshore South Kalimantan, a BPMIGAS official said.

The official said the block?s contract would be terminated, as the company did not make any significant activities in the block over the past years.

Permintracer has drilled at least three exploration wells in the block between 1994 and 1996.

The block was awarded in 1993.(denny)
