Pertagas accelerates gas disribution pipeline project in North Sumatra

The Belawan-KIM pipeline will have a length of 18.5 km, while the Belawan-KEK Sei Mangkei pipeline will have a length of 138 km.
?The development of pipelines from Belawan to KIM and KEK Sei Mangkei have reached 55 percent completion. Commissioning is targeted to happen later this year,? Pertagas? President Director Hendra Jaya.
The pipeline will be thus connected to the transmission pipeline stretching 350 km from Arun in Aceh and Belawan.
The Belawan-KIM pipeline is being built using 18-inch pipe with a capacity of 89 mmscfd, while the Belawan-KEK Sei Mangkei is being built using 12-inch pipes with a capacity of 40 mmscfd.
According to Hendra, the distribution of the gas will be handled by Pertagas Niaga, a subsidiary of Pertagas. Aside from both industrial zones, there are several other potential gas buyers among industries and big businesses in various parts of the province, including Kuala Namu international aiport.
