PT Pertagas, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said on Sunday that the company is targeting to complete three gas transmission pipeline projects this year.
Hatim Ilwan, Public Relations Manager of Pertagas, said a 176-km Grisik-Pusri pipeline in South Sumatra Province, which will transmit gas for fertilizer and power plants, is expected to be on-stream in the second quarter of this year. "The total gas capacity is around 160 mmscfd," Hatim said.
He said that a 70-km Gresik-Petrokimia pipeline in Gresik, East Java Province, with capacity 85 mmscfd will be completed in July of this year. Meanwhile, the third project, a pipeline linking Gresik and Semarang, Central Java, with total capacity of 500 mmscfd is also expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
In addition, according to Hatim, the company will also strengthen its infrastructure facility by developing Floating Storage Re-gasification Unit (FSRU) in Cilacap, Central Java which is expected to be on stream in May 2019. "This FSRU is developed to supply gas for Refinery Unit VI Cilacap," he said.
