President Director of Pertagas, Hendra Jaya, was quoted as saying that the planned partnership is expected to be formalized in an agreement early next year.
Titis Sampurna is the parent company of PT Sumber Petrindo Perkasa, the operator of a gas pipeline linking Cepu and Semarang, transporting gas from the Gundih block to the Tambak Lorok power plant in Semarang. If the planned partnership is realized, Pertagas would only have to build pipeline from Cepu to Gresik, and connecting it with Sumber Petrindo?s Cepu-Semarang pipeline.
?Although the special right for the Gresik-Semarang open access pipe is held by Pertamina, we still want to form joint partnership with Titis Sampurna as the owner of the Cepu-Semarang pipeline route,? Hendra said.
He added that the gas pipe developed by Titis Sampurna is considered feasible to be included in the open access scheme as it has a diameter of 20-inch, which normally has a transport capacity of 200 mmscfd. The current capacity being utilized is only 50 mmscfd.
Hendra said that the Gresik-Semarang pipeline will transport gas from Tiung Biru field to industries in Central Java. He said that Pertagas has signed Heads of Agreements with several potential buyers in the province. (*)
