Pertagas approaches suppliers for C. Java LNG terminal

PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a gas distribution unit of state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) is approaching Qatar Petroleum, Petronas and Singapore trading unit of Royal Dutch/Shell to supply LNG to its proposed floating storage regasification unit (FSRU), which will be built in the northern coast of Semarang, Central Java.
Pertagas President Gunung Sardjono told Petromindo.Com that the FSRU will have capacity to process 3 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
Gunung said Pertagas is also open to the option that the suppliers will also have shares in the FSRU.
Gunung said final investment decision on the project is scheduled to be achieved in September 2011 and becoming onstream in 2013.
?Tender for FSRU will be opened after the FID is achieved, but we have yet decided whether to purchase or to rent the FSRU,? he said, adding that investment for the project will be around US$300 million. (godang)
