Pertagas asks for special right to build W. Java pipeline

PT Pertagas, oil, gas pipeline unit of state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero), has applied for a special right to build and manage a gas pipeline stretching from Pondok Tengah to Tegal Gede in West Java.

The request was submitted to BPHMIGAS, the regulator of oil, gas downstream sector, the company said last week.

The company?s secretary Eko Agus told Petromindo.Com that the 35-kilometer-long pipeline will deliver gas owned by Bekasi regency-owned company PT Bina Bangunan Wibawa Mukti (BBWM).

BBWM has clinched a deal to buy gas from Pertamina EP?s Tambun-Pondok Tengah gas fields in Bekasi, he said.

BPHMIGAS commission member Heru Wahyudi confirmed that Pertagas had applied for the special right but did not give details as to when BPHMIGAS will decide on the request. (godang)
