Pertagas begins distributing gas to households in Bunyu

Gas distribution company PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, has started distributing gas to households in Bunyu, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, following the transfer to the company of city gas pipeline facility developed by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources? Directorate General of Oil and Gas.

Pertagas said in a statement that Pertamina EP, another Pertamina subsidiary, has allocated 0.2 mmscfd of gas from the Bunyu field to the city gas network.

The company added that it would hook up a total of 3,300 household customers in Bunyu to the city gas network within three months.

Pertagas currently operates city gas networks in a number of cities including Jambi, Sengkang, Prabumulih, and Sidoarjo with total customers of 17,000. The operation of the facility in Bunyu will increase the number of customers to 46,500.

According to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources decree, Pertagas has been targeted to distribute gas this year to new customers in several cities/regencies including Sidoarjo, Bekasi, Ogan Ilir, Subang, Bontang, and Lhokseumawe.
