PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, has completed three gas transmission pipeline projects in Java and Sumatra, which will increase gas transmission volume by the company, Investor Daily reported on Monday.

The paper quoted Vice President for Corporate Communications at Pertamina, Wianda Pusponegoro as saying that the three pipeline projects included the Porong-Grati pipeline in East Java, Maura Karang-Muara Tawar pipeline, and a pipeline linking Belawan and Medan Industrial Zone and Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone in North Sumatra.

?The Muara Karang-Muara Tawar and Porong-Grati pipelines are ready (to distribute gas). In fact, the Porong-Grati pipeline has completed commissioning,? Wianda said on Sunday.

The 31.2-km Muara Karang-Muara Tawar pipeline, which will distribute gas from the PT Nusanatara Regas floating storage and regasification unit, is preparing for commissioning stage, the paper said.

56-km Pipa Porong-Grati pipeline, with capacity of 120 mmscfd, will distribute gas from Peluang field operated by Santos Indonesia to the Grati combined cycle power plant owned by state electricity firm PT PLN. Pertagas is currently finalizing the gas distribution agreement with PLN.

The paper said that Pertagas is planning to develop a 1.267-km gas pipeline linking Gresik and Semarang, with capacity of 500 mmscfd, Wianda said. She added that EPC progress of the project has now reached 75 percent, and expected to be completed soon.

The pipeline will distribute gas from the Jambaran-Tiung Biru fields operated by PT Pertamina EP Cepu to industries in Central Java. The field, however, is projected to start production in 2019. (*)
