PT Pertagas Niaga, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, is currently developing a gas infrastructure facility in Bekasi Regency, West Java, in cooperation with property developer PT Jababeka.

Pertagas President Director Jugi Prajugio was quoted by Antara as saying Sunday that the construction of the gas distribution network was expected to be completed in 2015.

The infrastructure facility would allow the distribution of gas to household and industry consumers in the heavily populated Cikarang industrial area. Jugi said that the company plans to distribute up to 500 cubic meters of gas to the Jababeka Mandiri industrial estate in Cikarang.

He added that the gas, which would come from producers in West Java, would help reduce LPG import by up to 60 percent of the national consumption. (*)
