PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said that construction process of a gas pipeline linking Porong - Grati in East Java has entered the final phase.

?The EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) has reached 85 percent progress. Investment allocated is about US$87 million. The target is for the first quarter of this year to be completed,? said Pertagas Public Relations and CSR Manager Hatim Ilwan.

He added that since groundbreaking in January of last year, land acquisition for the 57 km gas pipeline project has been mostly completed, covering about 47 km of the planned route.

In the first phase, about 25 mmscfd of gas from the Peluang gas field operated by Santos will be distributed via the pipeline to industries in East Java. The pipeline has a capacity of up to 100 mmscfd, and is an open access status pipeline.
