Telvent GIT, S.A., a global real-time IT solutions and information provider, announced it has won a new contract to develop a project for PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a unit of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina.
The project complements the construction and operation of the new Tempino to Plaju crude oil pipeline (TPCOP), which is the firm?s first liquids pipeline. The new pipeline will supplement an existing 80-year-old, man-operated pipeline, the company said in a statement.
The company chose supplier Telvent, as well as solutions from Telvent?s parent company, Schneider Electric, for the synergies between the two companies. Together they provide a complete, integrated turnkey solution to control and manage processes from field to business. This ensures increased efficiency, time and costs savings.
The TPCOP pipeline project will be completed by the end of 2012. This is the second project between Pertamina Gas and Telvent. In 2010, Telvent was chosen to provide supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and advanced gas suite solutions to support the firm?s headquarters and five local gas pipeline area control centers.
