Pertagas eyeing gas supply from E. Kalimantan block

PT.Pertagas, a gas distribution subsidiary of state oil, gas firm PT.Pertamina Tbk. said it was participating in a tender to buy gas from Simenggaris block onshore East Kalimantan, accompany official said.
President Director Suharyanto told reporters on Wednesday that the company was aiming to buy 20MMCFD of gas from the block, to be resold to East Kalimantan industrial consumers.
The company expected gas supply from the block could alst for 11-15 years, he said.
He did not give further detail.
Medco Energi, together with Pertamina are joint-operator of Simenggaris Block.
Gas from Simenggaris was originally intended to supply a methanol plant in Bunyu island, which was operated by Medco. However, Medco decided to shut down the plant due to lack of gas supply.(godang)
