Pertagas, Medco sign Arun-Belawan gas pipeline MoU

PT Pertagas Niaga, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina, has recently signed an MoU with PT Medco E&P Malaka to develop a gas pipeline linking Arun in Aceh, and Belawan in North Sumatra.
Salis Aprilian, Senior Vice President of Gas and Power at Pertamina?s Gas Directorate, said that the MoU was signed this month.
The construction of the gas pipeline will allow the distribution of gas from the Medco-operated Block A PSC in Aceh to customers in the North Sumatra provincial capital of Medan and the surrounding areas.
Salis said that the volume of gas expected from Block A PSC for the customers in North Sumatra is estimated at around 50 mmscfd.
