PT.Pertagas, a Pertamina subsidiary which deals with gas distribution business, mulls developing an LPG plant at Pertamina EP?s Pondok Tengah oil, gas field in Bekasi, West Java, a Pertamina official said.

Pertamina EP CEO Tri Siwindono told Petromindo.Com that the plant would be developed to tap LPG before gas was delivered to PLN?s power plant in Muara Tawar. Pertamina EP is an upstream arm of Pertamina that runs the Pondok Tengah field.

He did not give detail about the plant?s capacity.

Pertagas Operations Director Harjana Kodiyat said that Pertagas will carefully evaluate the plant as he feared that gas supply from the plant would not last long enough to justify development of an LPG plant. (godang)
