Pertagas Niaga signs MoU with gas buyers

PT Pertagas Niaga, the subsidiary of PT Pertagas signed in the middle of this month a number of memorandum of understanding (MoU) to sell gas to three customers in Java.

Salis Aprilian, the company?s Senior Vice President for Gas & Power with the directorate of gas of PT Pertamina said that the would-be customers are PT Citra Alam Jaya, PT Semar Gemilang, and PT Indonesia Pelita Pratama.

For PT Citra Alam Jaya, a mining subsidiary of Sinar Mas Group, Pertagas Niaga has been committed to fulfilling gas that will be converted to CNG, as a replacement of oil fuels (BBM) for its natural gas-based operational vehicles in Jambi province and surrounding areas.

The MoU with PT Indonesia Pelita Pratama will be concerned with its commitment to meet the gas need of industrial consumers in East Java. The MOU with PT Semar Gemilang will be to fulfill the CNG for industrial consumers in West Java and Banten provinces.

To meet the gas need of consumers in West Java and Banten, Pertagas has secured an LNG supply from Nusantara. Also a number of sources allocation for Pertamina in West Java will be used to meet the consumers? gas need in the area.

Salis said that the total gas need of all of the would-be customers is around 50 mmscfd.
