Pertagas Niaga to sign contracts with gas buyers

PT Pertagas Niaga, a gas distribution unit of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), expects to sign sales agreements with several gas buyers in West Java, South Sumatra, East Java and East Kalimantan.

Pertagas Niaga?s President Director Jugi Prajogio said the buyers come from various industries, including ceramic, tire, steel, pulp and paper firms and a shopping center called Mall Balcony in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.

The contracts are projected to be signed in the fourth quarter of 2015 with a total volume of 10 mmscfd and average contract period of 3-4 years, he said.

He said the buyers in West Java, South Sumatra and East Java will receive the gas through pipelines, while in East Kalimantan, the gas will delivered using ISO Tank containers for Mall Balcony and using trucks for miners? vehicles.

?We are working on the draft contracts. Hopefully, they will be completed within one or two weeks. The contract volume is still small, averaging 1 mmscfd per industry. In total, the volume will reach 10 mmscfd,? he said.
