Pertagas picks contractor for W. Java LPG plant

PT Pertagas, a gas distribution unit of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina said it had picked PT Yudistira Haka Perkasa as contractor to build an LPG plant in Pondok Tengah oil, gas field in Bekasi, West Java.

Pertagas' Business Development Director Hardjana Kodiyat said the company was picked from three remaining bidders.

Hardjana said the LPG plant will be built on a Build, Operate and Own (BOO) system under which Pertagas would pay processing fee to Yudistira as the LPG plant's owner.

Earlier, Pertagas's President Director Suharyanto said the plant is expected to come onstream in 2010.

The plant, estimated to cost US$27 million, will process 15MMCFD of gas and produce 130 tons of LPG per day. (bernard)
