The firm said in a statement on Tuesday that gas pipeline connections have been built to a total of 4650 households using the state budget and the local government budget and Pertamina has allocated funds to build pipeline connections to another 4,000 households in the future, Pertagas said in a statement.
Prabumulih, a city with a population of around 160,000, is known as one of the main producers of oil and gas in South Sumatra.
Pertagas? President Director Hendra Jaya said Pertagas is cooperating with PetroPrabu, the company owned by the mayoralty, to distribute the gas.
?Prabumulih will become a role model for city gas throughout Indonesia given the good synergy that the local government and Pertagas Niaga have maintained,? Hendra said during a recent visit to the city.
Prabumulih Mayor Ir. H. Ridho Yahya MM welcome the Pertagas? plan to expand the city gas network, while noting that of 27 neighborhoods in the city, only four neighborhoods have thus far received gas.
He noted none of the households that have received gas has defaulted on their payment.
