Pertagas short-lists contractors to build Bekasi LPG plant

PT Pertagas, a gas distribution unit of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina said it had short-listed three local firms to build an LPG plant in Pondok Tengah oil, gas field, Bekasi, West Java.

Business Development Director Harjana Kodiyat said the three companies were short-listed from eight companies that passed PQ tender.

Harjana said the three companies are: PT Yudistira Energy, PT Wahana Insan Nugraha and PT Akraya International.

Harjana said the LPG plant will be built under Build, Operate and Owned (BOO) system and Pertagas would pay processing fee to the LPG plant.

Earlier, Pertagas President Suharyanto said winner will be announced in October with the plant is expected to come onstream in 2010.

The plant, which is estimated to cost US$27 million, will process 15MMCFD of gas and produce 130 tonnes of LPG per day. (bernard)
