Pertagas starts testing Belawan-KIM-KEK pipeline

PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), has just started testing its gas pipeline project in North Sumatra stretching from the port city of Belawan to two industrial areas, Kawasan Industri Medan (KIM) and Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Sei Mangkei.

?The pipeline is expected to be fully operational in April, but we are still awaiting the readiness of consumers,? Corporate Secretary of Pertagas Adiatma Sardjito said to Petromindo.com.

President Director Hendra Jaya said earlier that the 16-inch Belawan-KIM pipeline with a length of 18.5 km has a capacity of 89 mmscfd of gas, while the 12-inch KIM-KEK pipeline with a length of 138 km has a capacity of 40 mmscfd of gas.
