Pertagas teams up with Barata on gas pipeline projects

Gas distribution company PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, signed on Wednesday a MoU with state-owned construction services firm PT Barata Indonesia for maintenance and construction of gas pipelines in several areas, bisnis.com reported.
The news portal quoted Barata President Director Silmy Karim as saying that to two firms have been discussing a number of projects including maintenance and construction of pipelines in Java and Sumatra with estimated cost of around Rp 1 trillion.
Construction and maintenance works are expected to start later this year, he added.
Barata had been involved in the construction of a number of gas pipelines such as a 102-km pipeline in Cilamaya, West Java Province; and Tanjung Perak pipeline in East Java.(*)
