Pertagas to restart Bunyu methanol plant in 2012

PT Pertagas, a gas distribution arm of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) will resume operations of a methanol plant in Bunyu island, East Kalimantan, in 2012.
Pertagas President Director Suharyanto said on Wednesday that the plant, which was handed back to Pertamina by previous operator PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk will be operated by Pertagas.
Medco given up the plant?s operatorship due to lack of gas supply a few years back.
The plant, said Suharyanto, will receive 20-25 MMCFD of gas from Medco-operated Simenggaris block.
He said plant?s equipments are still in good condition, but he did not give detail planned production capacity with 20-25 MMCFD of gas input.
He said all of the plant?s production would be sold to Pertamina. (bernard)
