Pertagas to supply gas for Sei Mangkei SEZ

PT Pertagas Niaga, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina, has signed an MoU with state-owned plantation firm PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (PTPN III), which operates the Sei Mangkei special economic zone (SEZ) in North Sumatra, for the supply of gas to the palm oil-related industrial zone.

Salis Aprilian, Senior Vice President for Gas and Power at Pertamina, told Petromindo.com Friday that the MoU was signed last month by the CEOs of the two companies.

The gas to be supplied to the Sei Mangkei SEZ is expected to come from the Arun LNG regasification plant, and other gas fields located around North Sumatra.

Salis said that Pertagas will initially supply around 40 mmscfd to PTPN III, with an option to increase the supply depending on demand.
