Pertamax supply will reach 4 million kiloliters: Pertamina

The supply of non-subsidized gasoline Pertamax is expected to increase about 4 kiloliters a year from between 1 and 1.5 kiloliters a year when the government?s plan to limit sales of subsidized gasoline Premium to private cars beginning April, according to state oil and gas company Pertamina?s senior executive.

Director for marketing and trading Djaelani Sutomo said in Jakarta on Friday that Pertamax could be bought at about 720 gasoline stations at present. ?Other 610 stations are currently being prepared to be able to sell Pertamax,? he said.

He said in order to provide cheaper fuel alternative, Pertamina planned also to sell comrepssed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied gas for vehicles (LGV) to private cars. Pertamina planned to open at least 10 LGV stations in each major cities when the government finally decided to begin marketing LGV gas. (giok)
