Pertamina’s UPMS I and III gets ISO 9001 and 14001

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina’s marketing units UPMS I (Unit Pemasaran I) and UPMS III had maintained international standards in their operations and as a recognition to that they received ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates respectively, the Harian Ekonomi Neraca newspaper reported in its Saturday edition.

“UMPS I received ISO 9001 certificate, a 2000 version, for maintaining international standards at its installation in Deli Port, Medan and UPMS III received ISO 14001 certificate in the field of environmental management at its installation in Tanjuk Priok- Depot Plumpang,” Pertamina’s spokesman M. Harun told reporters in Jakarta on Friday.

The ISO 9001 (2000 version) was given by Lloyd Register Indonesia and ISO 14001 by Det Norske Veritas. Lloyd Register Indonesia’s country manager OG Rilson handed over the ISO 9001 on Wednesday to UPMS I’s general manager Tjandra Putra Kencana at Delhi port installation in Medan.

Whereas, the ISO 14001 was handed over to UPMS III’s general manager Ahmad Faisal by M. Derek from Det Norske Veritas’s certificate agency on Tuesday at the Tanjuk Priok installation. It was later given to Plumpang depot head Bambang Sinaryudho.

Harun said Pertamina’s several units previously earned international recognition for maintaining high standards.

Pertamina’s research and laboratory received ISO 9001-2000 certificate from SGS Indonesia for managing technical services for fuels, non-fuels and petrochemical products. Fuel laboratories in Jakarta and Surabaya also received ISO 17025.

Harun mentioned that the receipt of ISO certificates are part of Pertamina’s efforts to become a world class company by maintaining high international standards. (*)
