The state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina South Sumatra regional office and the local fertilizer firm PT Pusri have been accused of lying to the public as the two had failed to deliver a promise to distribute part of their power capacity for public use to help over the power shortage problem in Palembang.
Provincial legislator Zakaria Abbas was quoted as saying by the local Sumatra Express daily that Pertamina promised in December to supply 7 Megawatt of electricity to the state-owned electricity company PLN, and Pusri to deliver 15 MW.
But until now, he said, the two have not realized their promise.
He said he would propose for the provincial legislative council to summon the two state-owned firms.(*)
