State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina at the end of last month signed an memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in relation to a cooperation in carbon capture and storage pilot activities in Indonesia.
The company said in a statement obtained on Tuesday that the cooperation will focus on developing technology for storage of carbon dioxide gas emissions from oil and gas fields operated by Pertamina.
Trial of the technology will be carried out at the Gundih field, and once successful will be implemented in other oil and gas fields.
