Pertamina adds 164.4 MMBOE to its reserve in Q1

State oil and gas company Pertamina on Tuesday said that its upstream operations had managed to add 164.4 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE) to its reserve during the first quarter of 2002.

The new reserve consist of 47.2 million barrels of oil (MMBO) and 700 billion standard cubic feet (BCF)of gas, said company?s upstream director Iin Arifin Takhyan in a press conference.

In the first quarter of this year, pertamina made discoveries from Tanggulmaung structure in West Java (34.2 MMBO and 126 BCF of gas), Tambun Kelapa structure, also in West Java (13MMBO and 77 BCF of gas) and from Sungai Gelam Deep structure in Jambi (500BCF of gas).

Iin also said that during the fisrt quarter, Pertamina upstream produced 335,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOEPD) from its own operation and from participation in partners, higher than last year?s average production of 253 MBOEPD. (alex/godang)
