Pertamina adds tankers to strengthen distribution fleet

State oil and gas company PT.Pertamina said on Tuesday it will spend US$300-400 million within the next four years to buy 6-8 tankers to support its distribution operations.

CFO Frederik Siahaan told reporters that the company has ordered two 15,000 DWT tankers which would be delivered this quarter.

The company has also placed order to construct two 45,000 DWT tankers in Jiangshu, China with delivery expected in 3-4 years, he said.

Siahaan said Pertamina has yet decided whether to place order for new ones or to buy used ones for the remaining fleet. (Bernard)
