Pertamina agrees to repair Babelan road after strong protest

State owned oil and gas company Pertamina has finally agreed to repair the seriously damaged Babelan road in Kedung Jaya, Bekasi after the local residents threatened to block the road, Pertamina?s main access road to its crude oil collecting terminal in Tambun in the regency, Kompas reported on Friday.
Head of the Kedung Jaya village, Misar, said that Pertamina sent a letter on Thursday morning saying that the company in cooperation with the Bekasi authority would soon begin construction works to repair the road.
He said that the local residents had also agreed to cancel their plan to block the road after Pertamina agreed to repair the road.
Hundreds of residents had threatened to block the Babelan road if Pertamina did not give answer their demand until Thursday morning. "All their residents had been standby to block the road before Pertamina sent the letter," Misar said. (*)
