Pertamina, AKR selected to distribute subsidized fuels

Downstream regulator BPH Migas announced on Monday that it has selected state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) and IDX-listed petroleum and petrochemical product distributor PT AKR Corporindo Tbk to distribute subsidized oil fuels across the country.

The two names were selected through an open selection, the agency said.

There were 27 companies invited into the meeting where BPH Migas announced the selection process. Of the 7 companies that come to the meeting, only five, namely Pertamina, AKR, PT Puma Energy, PT Bintuni Cipta Lestari, PT Bahari Berkah Madani, PT Petrokam Hugo Oil, and PT Buma Niaga Perkasa picked up selection documents. Of the seven companies, only Pertamina and AKR finally submitted their selection documents.

The BPH Migas board meeting finally decided the distribution of subsidized oil fuels, also known as Public Service Obligation (PSO) oil fuels that Pertamina will be given right to distribute 688,000 kiloliters (kl) of kerosene, 15.7 million kl of diesel oil and AKR to distribute 300,000 kl of diesel oil.
