Pertamina allocates $ 1.05b for gas infrastructure

State owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) has allocated an investment totaling U$1.05 billion to build gas infrastructure in 2014, an increase of 235 percent compared to last year's budget.
"Investment in 2014 is intended primarily for projects such as the regassification terminal in Arun, Arun-Belawan pipeline, Gresik-Semarang pipeline, and Muara Karang-Tegal Gede pipeline," said Gas and Power Director of Pertamina, Hari Karyuliarto.
In addition, he added, the money will be spent for the development of downstream infrastructures, including for the distribution of LPG and gas for transportation facilities, such as Compressed Natural Gas Filling Stations (SPBG) and Liquefied Gas for Vehicles (LGV) stations.
Meanwhile, Pertamina?s Vice President for Corporate Communications, Ali Mundakir asserted the company will be moving aggressively to build downstream natural gas infrastructure. This is to support the conversion of fuel oil to CNG, he said.
