State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina said it has allocated US$2.1 billion for the construction of a number of gas infrastructure facilities across the country.
?We have prepared many investment (plans) including those already on going such as the revitalization of the Arun plant and pipeline,? said Pertamina Director of Gas and Power, Hari Karyuliarto to Petromindo.com Tuesday.
Hari said that gas distribution in the country has been hampered by the lack of infrastructure facilities, despite the huge gas reserves able to fulfill the demand of consumers at home.
He expects that the construction of the new infrastructure facilities would help increase the domestic use of gas.
