Pertamina allocates gas for Teluk Lamong terminal

State-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina has agreed to supply 2.7 mmscfd of gas to the Teluk Lamong multipurpose terminal in East Java when it begins operation in May of this year, Investor Daily reported on Wednesday.
The paper quoted Prasetyadi, President Director of terminal operator PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, as saying that the gas will be distributed to industries in the region via 300-400 trailer trucks.
He added that the 2.7 mmscfd gas supply provided by Pertamina was sufficient for now, but the requirement is projected to increase in the coming years as demand is expected to rise.
He also said that the company has yet to decide on how much it would charge customers for the gas.
State-owned port operator PT Pelindo III is currently speeding to complete the construction of the terminal, which is seen crucial amid overcapacity at the nearby Tanjung Perak Port. (*)
