Pertamina, Angolan firm to jointly develop Iraqi oil field

PT Pertamina (Persero) will team up with Angolan oil company Sonangol to develop an oil block in Iraq to further boost the company?s overseas exploration, the state owned oil and gas company?s president director Karen Agustiawan has said.
"Sonangol has an asset in Iraq. We hope Pertamina will be able to jointly develop the asset,? Karen said in Jakarta on Tuesday. At present, Pertamina and the Angolan company were still evaluating the cooperation, she added.
Earlier, PT Pertamina (Persero) and Sonangol agreed to form a team to jointly study a number of oil and gas fields in Angola, both offshore and onshore fields.
?The result of the joint study will be used as the basis of the future cooperation between the two companies,? Karen said. (godang)
