Pertamina announces January oil, gas discoveries

State oil and gas company Pertamina E&P said Tuesday that it, together with partners, had discovered oil in SK 305 block offshore Sarawak, Malaysia earlier this month.

Pertamina E&P president Kun Kurnaely told reporters that Dana-1 well flowed 3.072 barrels of oil per day from 40/64 inch choke. The well was drilled to the depth of 3,330 meters. Pertamina E&P is a wholly owned E&P arm of state oil and gas company PT. Pertamina, Tbk.

The block is operated under the three parties Joint Operating Company (JOC) called PCPP, where Petronas has 40% equity, while Pertamina and PetroVietnam have a 30% stake each.

Block SK305 is located in water depth of 150 metres in Balingian, offshore Sarawak, covering an area of about 15,164 sq kilometres.

Elsewhere, Kun said that Pertamina had also strike gas in Matindok Block, Central Sulawesi early this month. The Kampung Bali well, which was drilled to the depth of 1,775 meters flowed 3.9 MMCFD of gas from the interval of 1728-1731 and 14MMCFD of gas and 173 barrels of condensate per day from the interval of 1682-1692 meters.

Pertamina had also strike oil and gas from Wakamuk well in Papua, which flowed up to 329 bopd and 29 MMCFD of gas. The well, according to Kun, was drilled to the depth of 2,900 feet. (godang)
