State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has installed a new gantry system (NGS) at its Boyolali fuel terminal in Central Java, allowing the terminal to be operated through integrated automatic control system.

The NGS at the Boyolali fuel terminal, which is the eighth Pertamina fuel terminal to be installed with the modern facility, was inaugurated on December 27, Pertamina said in a statement on Tuesday.

Pertamina Marketing Director Muchamad Iskandar said in the statement that the NGS will create a more efficient fuel supply chain system. He pointed out that with the NGS, it would only take about 10 minutes to load a fuel tanker, compared to 30 minutes under the previous semi manual system.

The Boyolali fuel terminal distributes fuel to some cities in Central and East Java provinces.
