Pertamina assigned to develop gas pipeline in Kutai Kartanegara

The government will assign state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) to develop a gas pipeline in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.
Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources IGN Wiratmaja Puja said on Tuesday that the purpose of the pipeline is to distribute gas for the Tanjung Batu power plant.
The Tanjung Batu power plant, which currently runs on diesel fuel, will be expanded and will be fueled by gas. Wiratmaja said that the gas requirement of the power plant is estimated between 40-80 mmscfd. The gas will be source from nearby fields, he added.
