State-owned oil company PT Pertamina has awarded a contract worth US$$7 million to Delta-Envirotech and PT Faryan Nusantara for the cleaning of the former's oil storage tanks, according to Pennsylvania-based waste management services company Delta Mutual Inc.

Delta Mutual said in a statement on Thursday that the initial portion of the contract covered petroleum storage tanks located in Cilacap, Central Java, which contain approximately 51,000 metric tons of oil tank residue.

?The project can potentially be expanded to include additional storage tanks for an aggregate total of about 150,000 metric tons,? Delta Mutual said, adding that cleaning activities will begin in the next several weeks.

PT Faryan Nusantara, established in 1996, provides land and water transport services to the Indonesian oil industry. The company owns a fleet of tanker delivery trucks and floating storage barges to accommodate residues, crude oil, diesel oil, marine and other fuels.

Delta Mutual?s affiliate company Delta-Envirotech and PT Faryan have entered into a cooperation agreement to provide energy recovery and environmental services in Indonesia. (robert)
