Pertamina Balikpapan refinery produces high quality automotive diesel

State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said that its refinery unit V in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, has successfully produced high quality automotive diesel called Pertamina Dex High Quality, and started on Wednesday delivery to the Balikpapan fuel terminal for redistribution to fuel stations across the country.

Pertamina said in a statement that Pertamina Dex HQ is a high quality automotive diesel with minimum Cetane Number of 53, and has sulfur content of Euro 4 standard, thus is environmentally friendly. The company said that it will continue to improve the quality of the product going forward to able to meet the entire Euro 4 specifications.

Pertamina said that commercial scale production of the new fuel product was started in July following successful plant scale test in June.
